Announcing the 2022 fintech_devcon conference
We’re excited to announce that our flagship developer conference is back and ready to bring together builders in 2022. fintech_devcon started as a way to democratize fintech knowledge across payments, compliance, finance, and more. It’s grown into the premier place for the best minds and builders in fintech to meet, learn, and network—all without the sales pitches.
What is fintech_devcon?
We were inspired by events like DEF CON, GopherCon, and other community-driven developer conferences. fintech_devcon exists to invigorate one another. We want all builders, whether you’re new to fintech or an industry expert, to have the chance to build meaningful connections. For too long the knowledge of making great financial products has been kept under lock and key or trapped in the heads of seasoned builders. This two-day event is solely focused on the tools and best practices used by developers in fintech today, and you can rest assured knowing that every speaker is a builder tasked with teaching attendees on a wide range of relevant topics.
Dates and location
The event will take place in downtown Denver August 23-25 at the Hyatt Regency. Our plans are to keep this an in-person event and instead of offering virtual access, we will distribute all talks after the event (with speaker permission, of course). We’re carefully monitoring the latest health and safety guidance from the CDC and the Colorado Department of Health, and to ensure the safety of our attendees, we will comply with all protocols at the time of the conference.
Ticket prices
- $795 for early bird prices. Early bird rates end July 7
- $995 for standard prices. Standard rates apply July 8 - August 19
- $1395 for last call prices. Last call rates apply August 20-25
We understand that conferences can be wallet drainers. That’s why we aim to make fintech_devcon as accessible as possible. We believe all builders should have access to the training, networking, and resources fintech_devcon has to offer. If budget issues are a concern for any reason, let us know here. We’ll do our best to help.
Type of content
We want our attendees to learn about building in the fintech space—that’s why we’ve created several educational session types to facilitate learning:
-
Roadblock talks focus on sharing knowledge and lessons learned while building payments and fintech products. Think deep dives and industry insights that developers would find useful.
-
Workshops are hands-on coding sessions that teach attendees useful processes or steps. Participants will walk away with a tangible lesson learned and a project that they complete.
-
Panels and fireside chats are where speakers share their wisdom and provide expertise in order to create real value and takeaways for the audience. These sessions are more candid and conversational in nature but equally packed with insights.
If you want to get a feel for the content and session types, check out our recordings from 2021.
Speakers
Our call for speakers is open, and this is 100% your year to apply if you’re a builder in fintech. You don’t have to transcend to Angela Strange status in order to speak at our conference. There’s a reason we do an open call for speakers, and it’s because we want to hear from you.
“But I’m not senior-level.”
“No one cares about this topic like I do.”
“I’m not important enough to get accepted.”
STOP THAT RIGHT NOW. If you’ve built anything in fintech, you’ve gained valuable experience that our audience can learn from. If you want to see the topics our 2021 attendees wanted to hear in 2022, check them out in our “tips for selecting a topic” section. Plus, all presenters will receive a complimentary conference badge, lodging, and limited edition speaker-only swag.
Sponsors
Last year, fintech_devcon wouldn’t have happened without our wonderful sponsors. If you’re interested in helping build the flagship conference for fintech builders, we’d love to meet with you.
